Chinese Vintage Lotus Theme Metal Ding Shape Incense Burner Display cs2796S
This ornate bronze incense burner, or censer, stands as a striking example of traditional East Asian metalwork, characterized by its deep, aged patina and intricate mythological motifs. The vessel is supported by three robust legs fashioned into the likeness of shishi (guardian lions), which rest upon a tiered, scalloped base. Its central bulbous body is adorned with high-relief figures of climbing frogs or toads, flanking a subtle, etched floral pattern in the center. The handles are particularly unique, shaped like twisted, gnarled branches that terminate in small bud-like finials. Crowning the piece is a domed lid decorated with broad lotus leaves and pierced with ventilation holes, all topped by a fully bloomed lotus flower finial that serves as both a handle and a symbolic centerpoint.
