This striking Yixing-style teapot is a blend of earthy craftsmanship and ornate decorative art. Crafted from a dark, reddish-brown clay—visible along the unglazed footring and the interior of the lid—the exterior is finished with a lustrous black lacquer that provides a dramatic, high-contrast backdrop for its gilded illustrations.

The body of the teapot features a traditional figurative scene executed in gold and silver-toned pigments, depicting classical figures in flowing robes amidst stylized clouds and bamboo-like foliage. Its silhouette is classic and functional, featuring a rounded, bulbous belly, a gracefully curved handle, and a short, tapered spout. The fitted lid is topped with a simple spherical finial, decorated with delicate floral motifs that echo the garden theme of the body.
