This ornate, heavy-set silver-colored metal censer set comprises three distinct components: a main tripod vessel body, a pierce-carved lid, and a stylized matching base. The globular main body features high-relief, dynamically writhing Chinese dragons navigating stylized clouds and sea waves, with two prominent, loop-shaped handles emerging from sculpted dragon heads. The body rests securely on three short legs, each cast in the likeness of mythical lion or creature masks, which nestle perfectly into a separate, scalloped openwork base adorned with matching scroll patterns. The domed lid, topped with a smooth, teardrop-shaped finial resting on a stylized lotus base, utilizes intricate openwork piercings integrated into the dragon-and-cloud design to allow incense smoke to escape. When disassembled, the wide, unpolished interior cavity of the main basin is revealed alongside the individual components. Finally, the underside of the vessel exposes a recessed, rectangular six-character apocryphal Xuande reign mark (Da Ming Xuan De Nian Zhi) cast sharply into the base between the tripod legs.
