Vintage Chinese Light Celadon Green Relief Motif Hexagonal Porcelain Jar GB321S

  • $ 89600
  • Was $ 1,280

This impressive hexagonal baluster-form ginger jar is finished in a serene celadon green glaze, serving as a soft backdrop for its elaborate famille rose ornamentation. The vessel is meticulously decorated with high-relief, applied porcelain "Hundred Antiques" (Bo Gu) motifs, featuring an array of auspicious objects including archaic vases, scholar’s items, and floral baskets. These vibrant three-dimensional elements are interspersed with finely painted enamels of seasonal blooms like peonies and chrysanthemums, alongside trailing ribbons and traditional symbols of longevity and prosperity.

The jar is crowned by a matching faceted lid, topped with a hand-painted Shishi (Lion Dog) finial that adds a regal, protective presence to the piece. Geometrically patterned borders in pink and green lattice-work define the neck and shoulders, while the base is anchored by a traditional colorful striped "lapis" border. The underside bears a blue underglaze six-character Qianlong mark within a double square, signifying its classical inspiration. Combining sculptural depth with delicate enamel artistry, this lidded jar is a striking example of traditional craftsmanship, ideal for an elegant mantle display or as a focal point in a curated collection.
