This decorative ceramic ginger jar features a rich, polychrome glaze palette rendered in the Namban style. The body is dominated by cartouche panels portraying a three-masted Dutch sailing ship flanked by European figures dressed in 17th- to 18th-century attire. Framing these central scenes is an intricate background of geometric diaper patterns, gilded scrolls, stylized floral motifs, and cloud bands in vibrant shades of iron-red, cobalt blue, green, and gold. The jar is capped with a fitting domed lid topped with a gilded onion-shaped finial, while the underside reveals a red seal mark in seal script on an unglazed foot rim.
